Structure Fire

On May 14th, 2026, Deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff's office as well as multiple fire agencies responded to a structure fire on the 3200 Block of Clyde Rd South of Eveleth in unorganized township 56R17.  The Fire was reported to 911 dispatch around 1150 AM.

The property owner had a burn barrel outside of his residence which appeared to have spread embers to the structure.  The structure, a seasonal property that the owner was currently residing in was a total loss.

Due to the dry and windy conditions, the fire spread into the wooded area surrounding the structure.  Ground crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire on the structure as well as in the wooded area.

The Sheriff's Office would like to remind everyone that fires spread easily during dry springtime conditions and to use extreme caution when having any sort of fires as even small embers can lead to disaster.

Fire agencies assisting in the today's fire included Fayal, Gilbert, Eveleth, Palo, Lakeland, Aurora, Clinton, Makinen and Colvin Fire Departments along with the MN DNR.
