Drug and firearms bust

On May 1, 2026, at 7:30PM, members of Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force and Hibbing Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 11400 block of Spudville Road in Hibbing. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Lemar Fitzpatrick DOB 1/29/1978 was detained during the stop and a search warrant was later executed on the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, approximately 28 grams of cocaine were located.

At 8:50PM, a search warrant was executed at Fitzpatrick’s residence in Hibbing. During a search of the residence, approximately 14 grams of cocaine was located along with over 500 schedule 2 and schedule 4 narcotics and a stolen handgun.

On May 5, 2026, Michael Fitzpatrick was arraigned in St. Louis County District Court Hibbing for 1^st degree sale cocaine and 1^st degree sale of Adderall. Fitzpatrick was released on electronic monitoring.
