Grass fire destroys over an acre of land
On May 1, 2026, at approximately 12:51pm, area agencies responded to the report of a grass fire in the 3700 block of Hwy 100 in White Township, approximately 11 miles south of Aurora.
Several area fire departments, along with the MN DNR and St. Louis County Emergency Management, responded and were able to knock down the fire with no loss to any structures. The fire burned just over one acre and was started by a walk behind weed trimmer that the homeowner had been using just prior to the fire starting.
Responding agencies include the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, MN DNR, Palo, Colvin and Lakeland Fire Departments, and St. Louis County Emergency Management
