Matthew Steven Tourigny Sentenced
Court file #69VI-CR-24-1360
Yesterday, the Honorable Robert C. Friday sentenced Matthew Steven Tourigny, 39, to 288 months in prison for First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki. On February 20, 2026, Mr. Tourigny pleaded guilty to the crime, admitting that he had sexually assaulted a male under the age of 14 between October 2021 and December 2024. Based on his guilty plea, as well as his admission to certain aggravating factors, the Court sentenced him to an agreed upon sentence of 288 months, well above the presumptive guideline sentence of 144 months. Mr. Tourigny will receive credit for 484 days of time served since his arrest in December 2024.
“We hope this significant sentence will bring the victim and his family closure and healing,” said County Attorney Maki. “It sends a clear message that child sexual abuse has no place and will not be tolerated in our county.”
The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office thanks the victim for reporting this crime, and his family for supporting him. The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office also thanks the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations for their investigation and assistance in prosecuting this case.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant County Attorney Aaron P. Welch.
