David Allen Hoskins Sentenced
Court file #69HI-CR-24-196
On March 30, 2026, the Honorable Rachel Sullivan sentenced David Allen Hoskins, 62, of Sandstone, to 73 months in prison, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki. Mr. Hoskins previously pleaded guilty on January 29, 2026, to First-Degree Sale of Methamphetamine. The sentence pronounced was within the presumptive range for sentences as prescribed by the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines. According to law, Mr. Hoskins received credit for 105 days already served in custody as the case was pending. Mr. Hoskins co-defendant, Jennifer Ann Schostag, was previously sentenced to 71 months in prison for the same crime on November 20, 2025. Ms. Schostag was convicted at a jury trial.
“This sentence makes clear that those who bring dangerous drugs into our community will be held accountable,” said County Attorney Maki. “By stopping these shipments before they reach our streets, law enforcement prevents real harm. Disrupting drug trafficking is essential to protecting public safety, stopping addiction, and strengthening our community.”
The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office credits the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for the successful outcome in the case.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant County Attorney Jeff Vlatkovich.
