House Fire

On March 24th, 2026, at 0907 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 7300 Block of Oberg Road, in rural Sandy Township, due to a reported trailer house that was on fire.  Upon arrival, half of the trailer house was consumed by the fire. 

The homeowner was contacted and confirmed that parties renting the trailer house were not present.  The Renters were contacted and eventually arrived on scene.  The house was deemed a total loss.  The Red Cross was contacted and will be assisting the Renters. 

The cause of the fire is not believed to be the result of a criminal act.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Sandy Twp. Fire Dept., Pike Twp. Fire Dept, the Vermilion Lake Twp. Fire Dept., the Mountain Iron Fire Dept. and Lake Country Power.
