Train Versus Semi

On March 13, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a train versus semi crash at the intersection of Stark Road and Stark Junction Road in Midway Township.

Due to icy and snow-covered road conditions, a semi pulling an empty flatbed trailer became stuck on the railroad tracks. The driver of the semi was attempting to put chains on the truck when a train began to approach. The driver was able to move away from the truck prior to the collision.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Canadian National Railroad Police, and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
