Train vs vehicle accident

On 03/09/2026 at approximately 1010 pm, St Louis County Deputies responded to the area of Highway 7 and Swan Lake Road in Alborn Township for the report of a train vs. passenger car accident with injuries.

It was determined that there were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and there were no injuries to any occupants of the train or vehicle.  The vehicle was abandoned on the track and suffered significant damage; the train was not damaged from the incident.    

Alcohol was believed to play a role in the accident, and the driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old male from the Alborn area was arrested as a result of a DWI investigation.  

Agencies involved: Alborn Fire, Alborn first responders, St Louis County Sheriff's Office, St Louis County Rescue Squad, and CN Railroad.
