Snowmobile accident leaves one dead

On March 5, 2026 at approximately 10:08 PM, first responders and law-enforcement were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle snowmobile accident on the Arrowhead Trail located approximately 25 miles north of Orr, MN.

The reporting party indicated a friend who he had been riding with became separated from the group. The lost friend, a 29-year-old North Branch man, was located approximately an hour later deceased laying near his snowmobile. It appears he failed to navigate a 90-degree corner which resulted in him colliding with a tree.  The victim was the only occupant.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The incident remains under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
