Fatality in Grand Lake Township
On March 3, 2026 at 1512 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, responded to a report of a male trapped underneath a tracked snow groomer in the driveway in the 6800 block of Carlson Road in Grand Lake Township.
The assistance of the Grand Lake Fire Department, Mayo Ambulance, LifeLink, St. Louis County Public Works and Lake City Towing were requested immediately. Upon arrival of medical personnel, it was determined the 67-year-old male was deceased at the scene.
The tracked snow groomer was an older piece of equipment that was being used to plow the driveway of the property. This did not take place on a snowmobile trail and was a privately owned piece of equipment on private property.
The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office was called and responded to the scene along with investigators from the Sheriff's Office. There did not appear to be any foul play suspected.
This incident is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
