Cellular service restored

Friday update: The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has been notified that the cellular network affected yesterday is back online.

Previous announcement:
St. Louis County has been made aware of a fiber optic issue causing sporadic impacts to cellular coverage in areas of the County.  The areas identified include parts of Duluth, Hermantown, Hwy 53 corridor to Virginia and west to Hibbing.  Authorities are aware of and working on the issue.  Those unable to call 9-1-1 due to lack of cellular coverage should try to use a land line if available, text to 9-1-1 may work, utilize wifi calling if available and lastly, attempt to change to a location with sufficient coverage.  An update will be sent when service is restored.
