Accidental Shooting
On January 17, 2026 at approximately 0006 hours, a 67-year-old, Makinen man, who lives in the 3300 block of Curt Lane, called 911 to report that he had accidently shot himself in the leg with a .45 caliber pistol.
The male who lives alone indicated that he was awakened by a noise so, he retrieved his firearm. The male indicated that he subsequently fell back asleep while still holding the pistol and accidently shot himself in the leg.
The male’s gunshot wound is not believed to be life threatening and was transported by EMS to an area hospital for additional treatment.
