Homicide Suspect Arrested
At approximately 8:30am on 01/10/2026, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding an early morning homicide that occurred in Ramsey County, Minnesota. Information received also indicated the suspect wanted may be attempting to drive a stolen vehicle to an address in Lake County along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
At approximately 9:00am, a St. Louis County Sheriff’s deputy observed the vehicle in question in the Lakeside neighborhood in the City of Duluth. Eventually, deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop with the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle fled northbound on North Shore Drive several miles before it crashed near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Homestead Road.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short distance later by law enforcement from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol. A St. Louis County deputy was treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries sustained during a collision between the suspect vehicle and a marked patrol vehicle.
No other information regarding this incident will be provided at this time by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, and custody of the suspect was transferred to investigators of the St. Anthony Police Department in Ramsey County.
