Semi-tractor fire in Unorganized Township 55R15
On November 19th around 10:05 A.M., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a Semi-tractor on fire in Unorganized Township 55R15. The owner was the only occupant and exited the vehicle.
A Deputy arrived on scene and the Semi was a total loss. The trailer and its cargo appeared to be unharmed. The driver was traveling North on Highway 4 near the 2200 Block, when he got a flat tire. While outside inspecting the flat tire, he noticed smoke billowing. A few minutes later, there were visible flames near the cab.
It is believed the flat tire caused another component to become hot enough which started the fire. Several local Fire Departments responded to assist.
