Motor Vehicle Crash Involving MN State Patrol
At approximately 11:10am on 07/28/2025, The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Highway 53 and Swan Lake Road for a vehicle crash with injuries involving a MN State Patrol vehicle and another motorist.
The Trooper's vehicle was struck by another motorist while he was temporarily stopping traffic while using his fully marked patrol vehicle and emergency lights activated. The vehicle was impacted at highway speeds, forcing the Trooper's vehicle to spin approximately 75 feet from the impact site.
Both driver's sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the Trooper was cited for Failure to Obey an Emergency Vehicle and transported for medical evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation by The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
