Duluth Jail death investigation
On Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at about 09:35 AM, first responders and law enforcement responded to a 911 call at the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth, where an inmate was unresponsive in their cell. Life saving measures were immediately taken by jail staff and later by first responders however, these attempts were unsuccessful, and the inmate was declared deceased. At this time the cause of death is unknown. To avoid any conflicts the Sheriff's Office has requested the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) respond to investigate the death.
BCA personnel have arrived on scene to conduct an investigation. The deceased party's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
