Grass fire threatens structure

On May 4, 2025 at approximately 1651 hours, area first responders and law-enforcement were dispatch to the report of a structure fire located at the Lakeland Mobile Home Park in Biwabik Township.

It was reported that the reporting party was burning grass when the fire spread to an area underneath a mobile home. Fire crews were able to contain the fire and it is believed that the trailer home suffered minimal damage.

Two individuals were transported to Northern Pines hospital in Aurora via ambulance for unknown but believed to be, non-life-threatening conditions.

The incident remains under investigation by State Fire Marshal Office and St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Residence are reminded that even though we have precipitation recently, according to the Minnesota DNR abnormally dry remain though out the northland.
