Kids, Cops, and Cars free event is May 13 in Hibbing

Squad cars and other law enforcement vehicles, K-9s and more will be on display during the fourth annual Kids, Cops and Cars event on the Iron Range. The free, family-friendly celebration is Tuesday, May 13, 4-6 p.m., at the Hibbing Memorial Building, 400 East 23rd Street.

As the name suggests, Kids, Cops and Cars is an opportunity for children and families to meet local law enforcement officers, see emergency vehicles up close, watch various demonstrations including from law enforcement K-9s, and more. Free child-friendly items will be provided from various agencies while supplies last.

The event is hosted by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and Hibbing Police Department and will also include representatives and activities from about 10 other local law enforcement agencies.

"This event keeps growing in popularity and it's fun for us to have the opportunity to display new equipment and vehicles and talk with people about the work we do," said St. Louis County Deputy Sheriff Brock Kick. "We have law enforcement from around the region involved, so we hope to see kids and families from throughout the Iron Range join us for the fun activities planned."

“We are excited to again help bring this fun event to Hibbing," said Hibbing Police Chief Steve Estey. "Our officers look forward to this maybe as much as the kids do. It's a great opportunity to connect with families and the communities we serve."
