Traffic signals working again at Haines/West Arrowhead Road intersection

The traffic lights at the intersection of Haines Road and West Arrowhead Road are operational again following an accident Monday in which a pickup crashed into a pole and destroyed the system's controller cabinet. St. Louis County Public Works worked with area partners to quickly locate and install replacement equipment.

Motorists should be aware there may be times when the signal will need to be put into all-way stop, red flash as crews continue to work on minor updates to the traffic signal.

St. Louis County Public Works wants to publicly thank the local businesses and agencies that assisted with expediting the replacement of the traffic signals and keeping traffic move through the intersection as efficiently and safely as possible. These include: ArchKey/Parsons Electric, Warning Lites, Minnesota Power, City of Duluth Engineering/Signals and Lighting, the Duluth and Hermantown Police Departments, and the St. Louis County Sign Department.

The County also thanks the public for their patience and finding alternate routes to minimize backup at the intersection while repairs were made. An average of 24,000 vehicles per day use this intersection.
