Missing male located by the St. Louis County Rescue Squad.

A 61-year-old male with dementia went missing on 03/08/2025 at approximately 3:30 PM.  He was last seen around 6:30 PM in the area of Hwy 2 and Independence Rd. in Brevator Township where he was reportedly hitchhiking and then looking for a place to sleep.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded and checked nearby roads but were unable to locate the male.

At 09:44 PM, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad was paged out to assist with a search.  At 11:01 PM, the Rescue Squad located the male lying down in the tree line along Hwy 2 not far from Independence Rd.  The male was wet and hypothermic but was able to walk and talk.  He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

In addition to the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Cloquet Ambulance and Proctor PD.
