New deputies and correctional officers sworn in; other new employees and recent promotions recognized

Six new deputies and 14 correctional officers have joined the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office. During a ceremonial pinning of badges held Wednesday at the Public Safety Building, Sheriff Gordon Ramsay welcomed new deputies Michael Rocklin, Kyle Voltzke, Joseph Mattson, Matthew Nevanen, Joseph Lorenzi, and Jared Warneke. The new deputies joined the Sheriff's Office at various points over the last 13 months.

New correctional officers sworn in include Ashanti Blahut, Dale Pearson, Shane Campanella, Maya Lawler, Hunter Pouh, Austin Ernest, Alex Jacoway, Landon Lathrop, Tyler Olson, Aaron Pulkrabek, Nicholas Kronzer, Khloey Malkovich, Christal Silva, and Aharon Thedford.

New staff from other divisions of the Sheriff's Office also were recognized, including from 911 Emergency Communications, Emergency Management, Court Security, the Jail, and support staff. 

The ceremony also was an opportunity to highlight deputies who've been promoted in the last year. These include: Ryan Smith and Nick Toewe who were promoted to Deputy Sheriff - Sergeant; Dominick Schmitz, Deputy Sheriff - Sergeant, Corrections; Matthew Kelley and Zachary Peterson, Deputy Sheriff - Investigator; and Lisa Presler, Information Specialist Supervisor.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for all law enforcement activity in the
unincorporated areas of St. Louis County, as well as several cities. Sheriff’s deputies operate out

New Correctional Officers sworn in

Sheriff Gordon Ramsay administered the oath to new correctional officers who've joined the Sheriff's Office in the last year.


New deputies sworn in

Sheriff Gordon Ramsay swore in six new deputies who joined the Sheriff's Office in the last 11 months. They include, L-R: Michael Rocklin, Kyle Voltzke, Joseph Mattson, Matthew Nevanen, Joseph Lorenzi and Jared Warneke.
