Northwoods School Bus Accident

On 1/29/25 at approximately 0812 hours the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, EMS and Fire Departments, received a report of a single school bus accident on Olsen Rd E. near the Northwoods School in the City of Cook. The school bus slid off of the roadway and struck 2 trees and came to rest against a light pole that was not knocked down. 31 students and the driver were on board, 2 students were transported by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is being investigated by the Sheriff's office in conjunction with the Minnesota State Patrol. Preliminary indications are that Icy conditions were believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. School officials have been working with and notifying parents in this matter. Investigation is ongoing with personnel still on scene at this time.
