Escaped jail inmate Hibbing, Minnesota
On 10/17/2024, Inmate Laron Lyndell Brown was being seen at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, Minnesota, after reporting to jail staff that he was having chest pains. Brown was in custody for felony domestic assault by strangulation charge and was being held on $100,000.00 bail. Brown was being guarded by a St. Louis County Deputy throughout the medical screening.
Upon being released and cleared to return to the St. Louis County Jail in Hibbing, Brown escaped on foot from the deputy guarding him. An extensive search was conducted in the Hibbing area. The search effort included the following agencies.
St. Louis County Sheriff's Office
Hibbing Police Department
Chisholm Police Department
Eveleth Police Department
Minnesota State Patrol
At approximately, 1030 this morning, the escaped inmate, Laron Brown was taken into custody by the Hibbing Police Department and is back in custody at the St. Louis County Jail in Hibbing.
Additional charges of Escape from Custody are pending.
