Forum scheduled on social connectedness and mental health

The North St. Louis County Local Advisory Council is hosting a free community forum focused on social connectedness and the benefits to mental health. The free event will also include a volunteer expo as a way to help people get more involved and connected with others in their communities

The Mental Health Forum and Volunteer Expo is Thursday, October 3, 5-7 p.m. at the Mt. Iron Community Center, 8586 Enterprise Drive. The event is free to attend, but advance registration is encouraged. People can reserve their spot online at: Northern St. Louis County Mental Health Forum and Volunteer Expo Tickets.

During the forum, members of the North St. Louis County Local Advisory Council will share this year's research into social isolation and recommendations surrounding social isolation for our local communities. Meanwhile the Expo will feature local organizations showcasing ways to get involved and make a meaningful impact.

The advisory council started in the fall of 2020 with the goal of bringing together diverse perspectives on mental health to improve mental health services in our communities. The group works to identify existing resources and provide recommendations to St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services regarding changes, additions and improvements needed to local mental health services for children and adults.
