Julie Marinucci promoted to Deputy County Administrator

St. Louis County has promoted Julie Marinucci to serve as Deputy County Administrator-Citizen Services & Intergovernmental. In this role, she will have oversight over multiple departments including Land and Minerals, Planning and Zoning, Public Records and Property Valuation, as well as providing support for Economic and Community Development. Julie will also oversee the county’s intergovernmental affairs work.

Marinucci has worked for St. Louis County since 2018 in roles including Mineral Development Specialist, Deputy Director of Land and Minerals, and - since 2021 - as Director of the Land and Minerals Department. In that role she helped transition the department to online sales of tax forfeited properties. In the last year, she became a key voice as the state worked through a class action settlement and developed new policy related to the management of tax forfeited properties.

"Julie brings exceptional leadership, strategic planning and collaboration skills and has been outstanding in every role she's served in with St. Louis County," said County Administrator Kevin Gray. "She has also developed strong working relationships with many public agencies as well as in the private sector, which will serve county residents and stakeholders well."

"I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to expand my role with St. Louis County's leadership team," said Marinucci. "Working with the Land and Minerals Department, I learned from an incredible team and was able to interface with many stakeholders and departments through our land management work. With my background in natural resources and my passion for our region, I am excited to be part of the leadership team guiding the future of St. Louis County."

Marinucci holds a degree in Mine Engineering from Michigan Tech. Prior to joining the county, she held multiple jobs in the mining industry on the Range including mine operations, engineering, and consulting. She replaces Brian Fritsinger, who retired earlier this summer.

St. Louis County employs more than 1,900 people to serve its 200,000 residents spread across 7,000 square miles. Learn more at stlouiscountymn.gov.
