Two injured in accident

On June 25, 2024 at approximately 4:32 PM, area first responders and law enforcement were dispatched to the report of a 2-vehicle accident on Hwy 7 north of Hwy 133 located in Meadowlands Township.

It was reported that a minivan, traveling northbound on Hwy 7, had rear ended a flatbed truck which was part of a group of maintenance vehicles that were repainting roadway markings.

The minivan contained two adult female occupants. The driver of the minivan was transported to a Duluth area hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was airlifted to a Duluth area hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The driver of the dump truck was reported to not have been injured.

Impairment is being considered as a contributing factor to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriffs Officer and Minnesota State Patrol.
