St. Louis County Sheriff's Office Responds to Multiple Crashes
On 04/26/2024, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple unrelated crashes in the timeframe of just thirty-five minutes.
At approximately 8:39pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of mile marker 10 of Hwy 33 in Brevator Township for a report of a vehicle that struck a deer in the southbound lane before driving off the roadway and colliding with trees. The driver ultimately refused medical treatment and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to work out the incident details with the driver.
At approximately 8:41pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of the Rice Lake Road and West Calvary Road in the City of Rice Lake for a report of a vehicle crash where the involved northbound vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. The adult male driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was transported by Mayo Ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. It is suspected that alcohol was involved with this single vehicle crash and the incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office. Assisting the Sheriff's Office with this incident was Mayo Ambulance, Rice Lake Fire Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and Nascar Towing.
At approximately 9:04pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of Chesney Road and Beaver River Road in Fredenberg Township for a report of a vehicle crash where the involved vehicle left the roadway and stuck a culvert. The involved vehicle then came to rest in the woods after striking several trees. This vehicle was occupied by an adult male driver and adult female passenger. The passenger was transported by Mayo Ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. It is suspected that alcohol was involved with this single vehicle crash and the incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office. Assisting the Sheriff's Office with this incident was Mayo Ambulance, Fredenberg Fire Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and Collins Brothers Towing.
