ATV crash
On March 1st, 2023 at 8:45pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to an ATV crash with injuries, located within the 2600 Block of Co. Rd. 77, Greenwood Township. A Fairbault resident was visiting a family cabin for the weekend and had gone on an ATV ride. While navigating a steep ditch on Co. Rd 77, the ATV slid downhill, on ice and then flipped over, landing on the driver of the ATV.
Family members dialed 911 immediately and monitored the ATV driver. Greenwood 1st Responders and Bois Forte law enforcment were quickly on scene and rendered aid. North Memorial Air medical helicopter also responded to the scene.
The driver was subsequently taken by air medical, to a Duluth area hospital due to serious injuries. The driver of the ATV was not wearing a helmet.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Bois Forte Law Enforcement, Greenwood Fire Dept., Greenwood 1st Responders, Tower Fire Dept and the Virginia Ambulance service.
