ATV accident with injuries
On February 22nd, 2023 at approximately 1109 pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 7400 block of Lax Road which is located in Pike Township, northeast of the city of Virginia, due to a reported ATV accident.
The driver of the ATV was located pinned under the ATV, in the ditch. The driver of the ATV was treated by first responders and medical personnel at the scene until being airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Embarrass/Vermilion Fire Dept, the Pike Fire Dept., Virginia Ambulance service and Air Memorial helicopter service.
