Structure Fire
On February 22nd, 2024 at approximately 4:00 P.M, Saint Louis County Sheriff's Deputies and area volunteer fire departments responded to a residence on the East Van Road in Gnesen Township for a reported structure fire.
The home owner returned home from work, lit an exterior wood-fired boiler and went inside of the home. Smoke was observed a short time later near the boiler. Eventually, the boiler, a shed and large garage were completely consumed by the fire. The home-owner sustained minor burns after retrieving a skid-steer from the burning garage. The incident remains under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriff's Office.
Assisting agencies: Volunteer Fire Departments from Gnesen, Rice Lake, Normanna, and Grand Lake responded as well as the St Louis County Rescue Squad
