Structure Fire: 5100 Block, Country Road.
On December 13th, 2023, at 1:55pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5100 Block of Country Road, Great Scott Township, due to a reported house fire. Upon arrival, smoke was observed coming from the roof.
The homeowners were contacted and came home. All family members were accounted for. At this time the origin of the fire is believed to be accidental. The Kinney/Great Scott Twp, Mountain Iron and Chisholm fire departments responded to the fire.
The house is determined to be a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting the family with finding temporary housing. It is believed that two family pets, cat and rabbit, perished in the fire.
