Accident leaves one teen dead and another in critical condition.

On November 15, 2023 at approximately 1854 hours, area first responders and law enforcement were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle accident. It was reported that a vehicle, which was traveling westbound on the Nett Lake Road located southwest of Orr, Minnesota had gone off the road flipped and struck a tree.

Upon the arrival of first responders, it was determined that the vehicle was occupied by 2 teenage males. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene while the passenger, whose condition was considered critical, was transported by an EMS helicopter to a Duluth area hospital for advanced care.

It appears the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The names of the involved parties are being withheld pending notification of their families.

This incident remains under investigation by St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
