Crash with injuries

On 11/03/2023 at around 3:40 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office out of Mt Iron along with EMS out of Mt Iron and Virginia responded to a one vehicle crash in the 8900 block of Maxwell Road in the City of Mt Iron.  A vehicle being driven by a 16 year old lost control on the snow packed slippery roads and overturned in the ditch and came to a rest up against some trees.  The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was then transported to the Essentia Hospital in Virginia by ambulance with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

As the snowy season is upon us, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind drivers to be extra careful in driving on snowy and icy roads.  Temperatures often warm up in the daytime and then freeze in the afternoon or in the shaded areas creating slippery conditions.

Injured party- 16 year old male who lives in the 9000 block of Maxwell Road, Mt Iron, MN

Assisting agencies:  Mt Iron First Responders and Fire Department, Virginia Fire Department and Ambulance.
