41st annual St. Louis County Health & Human Services Conference opens Wednesday at the DECC

More than 2,500 people are scheduled to attend the 41st annual St. Louis County Health & Human Services Conference, which opens Wednesday at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). The annual conference is one of the largest in the state for human services professionals, and runs through Friday.

This year's theme is Courageous Connections: Leading with Curiosity and Compassion. The conference includes workshops, two keynote speakers, an exhibit hall featuring more than 210 booths, plus opportunity for public and private sector practitioners and students to connect and recharge. Doors open at 10 a.m. Wednesday for attendees to check in and tour the exhibit hall. The opening ceremony is at 1 p.m. inside the DECC's Symphony Hall. Advance registration is closed, but walk-in registration is still available for $150 for the three-day conference.

The opening ceremony will include music by Duluth-based artist Gavin St. Clair, along with Keynote Speaker Monica Guzman. Guzman is a journalist and author of “I Never Thought of it That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times”.

Friday's closing keynote speaker is Anne Bonney, an author, speaker and podcast host who focuses on change management.

The 41st annual Health & Human Services Conference is organized and presented by St. Louis County, with support from nearly 200 community organizations. Attendees may participate in-person or virtually, with continuing education credits offered for many of the workshops. More information about the conference, and the complete schedule of workshops can be found online at stlouiscountymn.gov/hhsconference.
