Public forum set to hear concerns about mental health needs

The Northern St. Louis County Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC) is hosting a public meeting and listening session to gather input on mental health needs for children, older adults, and law enforcement. The listening session will be Thursday, October 19, 4:30-7 p.m., at the Mt. Iron Community Center, 8586 Enterprise Drive in Mt. Iron.

People also can submit their personal stories of lived experiences - either anonymously or to be shared as part of the conversation - through an online survey at https://bit.ly/Northern SLCMentalHealth.

The forum is an opportunity for people - both local professionals and those with lived experience with mental health - to provide input to County Commissioners and staff from St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services. The goal is to gather information about unique mental health needs in northern St. Louis County.

The advisory council started in the fall of 2020 with the goal of bringing together diverse perspectives on mental health to improve mental health services in our communities.
