Incident Summary:
Armed suspect apprehended after pursuit
Fredrick Sievert was apprehended after discharging a shotgun into the door of a family friends garage and leading law enforcement on a pursuit. Sievert drove back and forth in the wrong lane of Highway 61, attempting to evade arrest. Efforts to use the PIT maneuver and stop sticks were unsuccessful. Sievert eventually ended up crashing into rocks in a gravel pit near the 7800 block of Highway 61. Eventually he was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a shotgun. Sievert has been lodged at the St Louis County Jail and charged with 2nd Degree assault, 4th Degree Burglary, Reckless discharge of a Firearm and Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle. The St Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by The Lake County Sheriff's Office, Duluth Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
