Solway Township House Fire
At approximately 11:01pm on 4/19/2023, multiple area fire departments responded to a residential house fire located at the address of 6365 Morris Thomas Road in Solway Township. The homeowner, and single occupant of the residence, discovered smoke and fire in a bedroom and was able to evacuate from the residence before driving to a nearby address to call for help.
Fire personnel from Solway Township, Grand Lake Township, Canosia Township, Cloquet Fire Department, Hermantown Fire Department, Proctor Fire Department, and Air National Guard Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire, but the single level house was ultimately a total loss.
The initial cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by the Solway Township Volunteer Fire Department.
