Incident Summary: On 3/25/23, at approximately 3:00 PM, first responders were dispatched to the Ash River Trail Resort related to a report of a patient who had been involved in a snowmobile accident. The snowmobile operator, Shaft, had been driving his snowmobile in a convoy on the Voyageur Trail approximately 3 miles SE of the Ash River. As Shaft navigated a turn, his snowmobile struck a rock, throwing Shaft from the snowmobile. Members of the convoy were able to transport Shaft to the Ash River Resort to await medical attention. Shaft was transported by LifeLink to Essentia Health- St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries.
