Incident Summary:
On March 23, 2023, at approximately 7:24 AM the St. Louis Co Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a 2-vehicle accident with injuries involving a school bus at Hwy 100/Palo Rd. 41 in White Township.
During the investigation, it was determined Locken was driving the school bus and failed to stop at the intersection of Palo Rd. 41 and Hwy 100. Fredrickson was traveling north on Hwy 100 and collided with the school bus.
After the initial collision, the school bus entered the wood line across the intersection and struck some trees. The school bus contained several children enroute to Mesabi East High School.
One child suffered minor injuries during the crash. Locken was treated for minor injuries and Fredrickson was air lifted by North Memorial Air for unknown injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
