Incident Summary:
On January 5th, 2023, at approximately 10:00am, emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Center Line Road and Industrial Road in Industrial Township for the report of a pickup truck that had been struck by a northbound Canadian National (CN) train.
The investigation into this collision determined the driver of the pickup truck was traveling on Center Line Road and did not stop at the stop sign prior to entering the railroad crossing.
The vehicle involved entered the railroad crossing and was struck broadside by the northbound train. The driver of the vehicle, a 56 year old Culver, MN resident, was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other occupants in the pickup truck and no railroad employee's were injured.
Victim identification is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
Multiple agencies responded to this incident to include: Industrial Township Fire Department, Grand Lake Fire Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and Canadian National (CN) Railroad.
