North Shore Scenic Drive (CSAH 61) reopen following emergency repairs

Emergency repairs are complete, and North Shore Scenic Drive, also known as County State Aid Highway 61, has reopened to traffic. The portion of the road near the New Scenic Café had been closed for several weeks while work was done to stabilize the road for the winter. Excessive erosion on the lake side of the highway had caused the slope to become unstable and fail.

A permanent repair will be done next year. The construction schedule is still to be determined. More information on the project can be found online at stlouiscountymn.gov/scenic-61.
