Closures for Glenwood roundabout project shifted to July 18

The construction schedule has shifted by several weeks for the new roundabout being built at the intersection of Glenwood Street, Snively Road and Jean Duluth Road in Duluth. This is due to a delay in the arrival of concrete pipes necessary for the project.

The segment of Glenwood Street east of the intersection was originally scheduled to close this week, while the other side of Glenwood Street, along with Snively Road and Jean Duluth Road leading to the intersection had been scheduled to close in early August. Instead, the entire intersection will close beginning July 18. The closures and resulting detours are expected to last through the end of September.

St. Louis County Public Works and the City of Duluth are working together on the project, which is designed to improve both safety and travel efficiency at the intersection.

Detour signs will be posted directing traffic to alternate routes around the closed intersection. To learn more about the project or view detour maps, visit stlouiscountymn.gov/glenwood-roundabout
