Incident Summary: 

On January 29th at approximately 1457 hours the St Louis County dispatch received a call from a address in Unorganized Township U61R13, Babbitt, MN.   A 71 year-old male reported that he had been stabbed in the neck by a 36 year-old female that was staying in his home.   The male was transported to Duluth for treatment of non-life threating injuries.  The female was treated for superficial injuries and then Lodged into St. Louis County Jail for 2nd degree assault.   This incident is under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriffs office.  The names of the individuals are being held at this time for investigative purposes.   This was a isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.   

Assisting agencies:  Babbitt Police Department, Embarrass EMS, Ely Ambulance.

Additional Information or Update:

Amber Pagel, was arrested, booked on Seconded Degree Assault charges.  She was arraigned on 2-2-22 in Virginia.    Her bond was set at $50,000.  William Dimich, was treated and released for his injuries he receive from the altercation. 

Correction from the previous press release:  Babbitt ambulance transported Dimich to the Ely Hospital.  Also, the Sheriff's office was also assisted by the Ely Police department and the Minnesota DNR on this incident.
