St. Louis County Public Health offering vaccine clinics at Duluth Transit Center and Morgan Park; COVID testing in Ely

St. Louis County Public Health continues to offer COVID-19 vaccine and booster appointments. and COVID-19 testing opportunities at targeted locations to ensure access.

 

Vaccine clinic locations this week include:

  • The Duluth Transit Center, 228 West Michigan Street, on Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Good Fellowship Community Center, 1242 88th Avenue West in Duluth's Morgan Park neighborhood on Friday, Feb. 4, from 1-4 p.m.
  • St. Louis County Government Services Center-Virginia, 201 South 3rd Avenue West, on Friday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Public Health will have available Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines and boosters, as well as the smaller dose Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5-11. As a reminder, boosters are recommended for everyone age 12+ who received their original doses of Pfizer or Moderna more than five months ago, or anyone who received the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine more than two months ago. Adults may choose to receive a different booster than their original vaccine. 

 

Appointments for COVID-19 vaccines are encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome. People can register for an appointment at stlouiscountymn.gov/vaccineregistration

 

Meanwhile, St. Louis County Public Health has announced it will continue offering free COVID tests in Ely once a week as long as the need remains high. The county had operated the test site at Vermilion Community College on a trial basis the last two weeks and will now make it a semi-permanent site.  

 

Testing locations operated by Public Health in northern St. Louis County now include:

Wednesdays: 1-5 pm, Eveleth Auditorium, 421 Jackson Street, Eveleth

Thursdays: noon-3 p.m. Vermilion Community College gymnasium, 1900 Camp Street, Ely , 

Fridays: 1-4 pm, St. Louis County Public Works Facility in Virginia, 7823 Highway 135.

 

All three locations offer both nasal swab Antigen tests, which provide results in 1-3 hours; as well as PCR saliva tests from Vault, which typically provide results in 24-48 hours. No appointment is needed for these COVID-19 tests.
