Incident Summary:

At approximately 1706 hours, area first responders and law enforcement were dispatch to the report of a single vehicle personal injury accident involving a snowmobile located in Morse Township near Winton.

Upon the arrival of emergency resources on scene, it was determined that a female snowmobile driver, later identified as Kristin Johnson, who was the only occupant on the snowmobile, had left the designated snowmobile trail that she had been traveling on for an undetermined reason and struck a marked utility pole guidewire causing her to be ejected from the snowmobile.

Johnson was accompanied by another rider who was driving another snowmobile ahead of her and did not witness the accident.

As a result of the accident several area residents lost power which, Lake Country Power was working to restore.

There were no indications of any alcohol use. The accident remains under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriffs Office.
