Deputies and Corrections Officers to be sworn in, other staff recognized

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is holding a swearing in ceremony for the first time since before the pandemic, recognizing a total of 19 new deputy sheriffs who've joined the office in 2020 and 2021. The deputies, along with nine new corrections officers, will take an oath to serve and be sworn in Wednesday, November 3, at 11 a.m., in a ceremony at the Public Safety Building, 2030 Arlington Avenue, Duluth. Also being recognized will be new court security staff, 911 emergency communications specialists, clerical staff and chaplains; as well as those who've earned recent promotions and awards for outstanding service.

The list of new deputies includes Jaclyn Braiedy, Kyle Chiaverini, Christina Parise and Adam Kladivo, who were hired in February 2020. Deputies Kyler Erickson, Darrick Finke, Dietrich Friebe, Jacob Roskoski and Joseph Zallar have served since February 2021. Deputies Derek Eckstrom, Boyd Billman, Matthew Kelley, Harley Figgins, Brandon Zubke, Riley MacLean, Joshua Engel, Nolan Forrest, Tyler Anderson and Wyatt Phaneuf just started with the Sheriff's Office this week and will go through approximately six months of field training.

"I think about all that has happened in our country and within the law enforcement profession in the last year and a half or so; and I see these new deputies and their unwavering dedication and enthusiasm to serve," said Sheriff Ross Litman. "I'm pleased to welcome them to the Sheriff's Office, and am confident they will serve our citizens well."
