Incident Time:  00:30 AM

Incident location:

800 Block of W Railroad St. Duluth, MN

Name: Anthony Mario Peterson

Age: 20

Address: Duluth, MN

Incident Summary:

Last night a St Louis County deputy observed a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly endangering public safety in the Canal Park area. The Deputy followed the vehicle and was able to positively identify the vehicle as black, Chevrolet, Silverado pick-up truck that had been reported stolen during a burglary that occurred on September 18th in Fargo, ND.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle however, the driver refused to stop and fled from the deputy.

Area law enforcement were cautioned earlier that the driver of the stolen truck may also be armed due to their suspected involvement in a vehicle prowl, by a neighboring jurisdiction, where a handgun was stolen.

During the pursuit the driver of the stolen vehicle, later identified as Anthony Mario Peterson, presented the deputy with an opportunity to utilize a PIT maneuver.

Deputies subsequently took Peterson into custody without incident. Peterson was transported to an area hospital for evaluation before being lodged at the St Louis County Jail.

Peterson was charged with numerous Felony, Gross Misdemeanor and Misdemeanor levels of crimes.

The incident remains under investigation by several law enforcement agencies in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.
