Incident Summary:
On 06/09/21 at approximately 2215 hours, St. Louis County Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Hwy 31 and the Bong Road in Culver Township.
Upon arrival, Deputies found a single vehicle appeared to be traveling north on Hwy 31 near the Bong Road, when it left the roadway and struck several trees. A single male occupant was found inside the vehicle with a severe head injury. Despite life saving efforts by first responders, the male was pronounced dead at approximately 2315 hours. The male did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor. The identity of the male is being withheld pending notification of the family. The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
Responding units included the following;
Cloquet Area Ambulance, Culver Township Fire Department, Alborn Township Fire Department, Fond du Lac Police Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Minnesota State Patrol, and Life Link Air Medical.
