Incident Summary: 

At approximately 1407 hours today, St. Louis County Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 6000 block of Esker Trail in Grand Lake Township. Upon arrival, Deputies found a Dodge Caravan had left the roadway, traveled down a steep embankment, crashed into some trees, and came to rest in a small pond.  The male driver and female passenger were both able to get out of the van onto dry land. 

The female passenger was transported by Mayo Ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, for non-life threatening injuries. Agencies responding to the scene included; Grand Lake Fire Department, Fredenberg First Responders, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and Mayo Ambulance. 

The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
