Incident Summary: 

At approximately 1100 hours today, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, along with the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Duluth Fire Department, Duluth Police, U.S. Coast Guard, and Mayo Ambulance responded to the area of 2100 Water Street.  A caller reported a large sheet of ice had broken away and began to drift into the lake, with approximately 30 fisherman on the ice. All parties were safely rescued and brought to shore.  No injuries were reported.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind the public that no ice is safe, especially with the ever changing conditions of Lake Superior.
